ISFFH Announces Jeff Doucette as Recipient of the 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award

Jeff DoucetteJeff Doucette has been acting and improvising professionally for over 40 years beginning at Chicago’s Famed Improv Theater, THE SECOND CITY with improv guru, Del Close. As half of the comedy team of JEFF AND ERNST, Jeff moved to LA and joined other young comics including Freddie Prinze, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Richard Lewis, Robin Williams, Michael Keaton, Jim Varney, and Andy Kaufman in building the foundation for the comedy boom that was soon to follow. He has made appearances on most of the major talk shows including THE TONIGHT SHOW with Johnny Carson.

In his long career Jeff has made somewhere around 40 films and over two hundred TV appearances. Most recently, Jeff has been the face of Ben Franklin in ads for Chevy Volt, Quicken Loans, Ballpark’s Finest Hot Dogs, and El Monterrey breakfast foods. You also might have recognized him in one of his many regular and recurring roles including on DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES as Eva Longoria’s long suffering priest, Fr. Crowley. In NEWHART as the loveable loser, Harley Estin, on ALIEN NATION as the obnoxious tabloid reporter Jed Burns, in TOWNIES as Steve, the fisherman without a clue, and on WEIRD SCIENCE as Al Wallace, the Homer Simpson-esque father whose son invents a cyber girl. He has also recurred on DOG WITH A BLOG, 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN, E.R. EMERGENCY ROOM, THAT 70’s SHOW, and BEVERLY HILLS 90210.

Jeff is also a writer and director, having written two plays, and one of them, WITHOUT ANNETTE, is still running at the Whitefire Theater in Sherman Oaks.

In addition to acting, writing, and directing, Jeff and his wife, Saba, are both licensed spiritual practitioners and Jeff teaches seminars and workshops that explores the philosophy and practice of Living in the Now through Improvisation. If life is a game, Jeff is the Game Master.

Hollywood is the capital city of the entertainment world. The ISFFH offers student filmmakers from all over the world a unique opportunity to gain the recognition of film industry leaders. It is a forum for student filmmakers to showcase their independent films in Hollywood. This event at the epicenter of the film industry puts these students face to face with working Directors, Producers, and other industry professionals throughout the event, giving them the invaluable opportunity to promote themselves and their films.
