The 6th Annual ISFFH Celebrates the Next Generation of Filmmakers

North Hollywood, CA - The 6th annual International Student Film Festival Hollywood (ISFFH) will take place November 7 – 9, 2008 at Beverly Garland’s Holiday Inn in North Hollywood.  78 films from 9 countries were accepted into this year’s festival. Films have come from Turkey, Sweden, Italy, Israel, Germany, Denmark, Columbia, Canada and the USA.  Film students range from elementary to graduate school.

The 2008 official film selections will be screened November 7th and 8th at Beverly Garland’s Theater at the Beverly Garland Holiday Inn in North Hollywood. Each screening segment is followed by a question and answer period where a moderator from the film industry leads a discussion with the filmmakers and the audience. The ISFFH encourages the filmmakers to actively engage the audience in discussion to further build their enthusiasm, self-confidence and public speaking ability. At the same time, it is an opportunity to entertain, enlighten, educate, and engage the audience.

The Awards Ceremony will be held on November 9th in the ballroom at Beverly Garland’s Holiday Inn where student awards will be presented. This year Fun Little Movies will present the winner of Best Comedy with a paid distribution deal. will be awarding prize packages valued at $500.00 each to the Winners of Best Drama and the Grand Jury Award.

Mike Medavoy, Chairman & Co-Founder of Phoenix Pictures will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his role in the success of some of America’s best films over the past 25 years.

During the evening a silent auction will take place along with an art displays by Artist, Designer, and Author Sara Shai and Photographer and Graphic Artist Rony Armas. Celebrity autographs will be available by famed guests Jack Donner, Gloria Hendry, Sam Scarber, and Spice Williams-Crosby.

Jack Donner is an Actor, Producer, Director and Screenwriter. Some of Jack’s current work includes a return to Star Trek, Enterprise, in a recurring role of Vulcan Priest; an episode of “According to Jim”; and as the Immortal “Rose” in “Alias.” He is currently seen as the recurring character “Alfred” the British butler on “General Hospital,” and an important role on “Criminal Minds.”

Gloria Hendry is an Actress, Singer and Author of “Gloria, Bond and All”. She made history as the very first romantically involved African-American James Bond girl in the movie “Live and Let Die” with Roger Moore as James Bond.

Sam Scarber is a retired NFL Play, Actor and Fitness Coach. Sam has done numerous National Commercials, Television shows and recently Guest Starred on the very popular "ER" series, kicking off it's New Season.

Spice Williams-Crosby is an Actress and Stun Specialist. She has worked on feature films including "Star Trek V", "Cherokee Kid", and "Million Dollar Baby", along with numerous television show including Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Srcubs. Since 1986, Spice has been stunt doubling Deidre Hall (Marlena) on “Days of our Lives".

Founded by Robin Saban, the ISFFH, a 501(c) nonprofit corporation, offers student filmmakers from around the world a unique opportunity to share their talent and gain the recognition of film industry leaders, creating career development opportunities. Since 2003, the ISFFH has helped to place more than 20 graduate film students into production and post-production job positions.
